John Manners
John Manners, pianist, organist and uilleann piper, began his musical education in the College of Music, Chatham Row, Dublin 2, now known as the DIT Conservatory of Music, at the age of 7, where he studied piano, uilleann pipes and music theory. Having completed the standard ABRSM Grade 8 at the College of Music under the tutelage of Eithne Russell and Maeve McSweeney, John went on to study music at University College Dublin and graduated with an honours arts degree in 1999. Since leaving college, John has performed extensively, both in Ireland and abroad, and has made a number of recordings, including commissions from Guinness (Diageo Ireland). In recent years working for the professional music groups, the Kinvara Trio and the Avoca Duet, has been the mainstay of John's music career, with whom he has travelled the length and breadth of Ireland for a wide variety of performances, on organ, piano and uileann pipes - be it for a corporate engagement, concert, television, wedding ceremony or otherwise. John has an extensive repertoire, covering all sorts of music - classical, contemporary, Irish traditional and jazz - and also performs a church organ repertoire.
